This parasol is inspired by the wind-swept ocean and desert landscapes of the Baja Peninsula. Tuuci® incorporates flexible fiberglass struts—aptly named Fiber- Flex—which absorb punishing wind conditions, sudden gusts and corrosive salt air environments. Anchors are ordered separately. Fixing the parasol down — into the ground or onto a slab, which are as strong as each other — takes the most wind and is the more affordable way to do it: the anchor is small and the ground does the work. A free-standing anchor costs more because the weight is the anchor.

Fixed into the groundCast into new concrete. Needs an excavation or a new pour, and the anchor itself is small, so there is nothing to pay for in weight.Bolted to an existing slabJust as strong as in-ground, and costs about the same. The difference is only the fixing: holes are drilled or cored into concrete or a deck that is already there, and the anchor bolts on.Free-standing weightNothing is fixed, so it suits a waterproof membrane, a rooftop or a tenancy that cannot be drilled. Tuuci don't recommend leaving this parasol open above 40 km/h, and strongly recommend an in-ground mount wherever winds above 48 km/h are expected. Suggested weights are Tuuci's own, for free-standing parasols in reasonable conditions, and are not a warranty or guarantee — see Wind ratings & conditions above. Anchors come in Marine Silver as standard, with the powder coats included.
