Macquarie University Engineering and Innovation Building
Creating spaces that empower the next generation of innovators.
In collaboration with Hassell Studio and FDC, TCW contributed to the transformation of Macquarie University’s Michael Kirby Law Faculty. The project blends sustainability, functionality, and innovation to create a cutting-edge educational space that inspires learning and fosters talent.
The project called for the supply and installation of a complete furniture package across a wide range of learning, collaboration, meeting, and social spaces. The brief required a cohesive design language throughout the building, balancing functionality, durability, ergonomics, and aesthetics, while remaining within budget parameters and meeting the demanding construction programme.
Working closely with FDC and the project team, TCW curated and delivered an integrated furniture solution that enhanced the user experience while supporting the architectural vision of the space.
From collaborative hubs to focused workspaces, every furniture selection was made to complement the architectural vision and create an engaging educational environment.
The completed Engineering and Innovation Building delivers a cohesive and highly functional educational environment that supports a broad spectrum of learning styles and work modes. Through the careful selection of furniture solutions, the project successfully balances flexibility, comfort, and performance while maintaining a consistent design aesthetic across the building.
The result is a contemporary campus destination that encourages collaboration, innovation, and engagement—providing students and staff with adaptable spaces that can evolve alongside the future of education and engineering research.
